He died at his home in Mountain Green, Utah. Mongkol is a person I will never forget. He was a great teacher, leader and missionary. He was not someone who enjoyed "goofing off", life and learning were much too important for that.</div> <bR> <div> One evening at the Language Training Mission in Laie Hawaii,  Mongkol told me that I might not be going to Thailand since I could not speak the tones of the Thai language. With the Lord's help and that of the instructors in Hawaii, my tones finally started to improve and I was able to go on to serve in Thailand.</div> <bR> <div> When serving as companions in Chiang Mai, Thailand (not far from Mongkol's birthplace in Lumphoon) the following event took place. While walking down the side walk, Mongkol grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into a shop. "Elder Mongkol", I asked, "what is it that we need to purchase here"? He replied, "We don't need to purchase anything. I saw my cousin approaching down the sidewalk and I don't want to speak with her today". </div> <bR> <div> I had hoped to finish my mission serving with Mongkol as zone leaders in Chiang Mai, but was reassigned to Bangkok to work with Sister Srilaksana (which also turned out to be another <A HREF="http://www.translatingscripture.com" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://www.translatingscripture.com"><U>marvelous experience</U></A> during my mission).</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <B>January 05, 2009 - Sugar Bowl Adventure - </B><FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >Reed, Rob and Mike attended the University of Utah's biggest football game ever in New Orleans at the Louisiana Superdome on January 2nd. Utah routed Alabama 31-17.
